Spring Fever

I probably should take my own temperature to make sure that I'm not feverish and delusional, because I just planted a slew of cold weather crops which, in any other year, I'd be a bit crazy to try now, but it's not any other year here in coastal Maine, at least not so far.  Today's high was 54 and the next 10 days are going to be in the high 40s.

I planted them in a couple of beds covered with a makeshift low tunnel I made yesterday with some wire hoops and plastic salvaged from our now deceased greenhouse which blew away in a winter storm (I got a message on my answering machine from a neighbor saying "I'm not sure if I'm imagining things, Roger, but I think I just saw your greenhouse blowing down the street.")

The crops planted were primarily from older seed packets and included peas, radishes, carrots, salad greens and such.  Will they all work? Probably not, but I'm hedging my bets that enough will work to make it worthwhile.  I'll let you know how I do.
