The White House has its garden. Isn't it time America's children had theirs?

KGI is putting its new media muscles to work on behalf of school gardens by supporting them in the "Ideas for Change in America" competition on Change.org.  You can read the e-mail I started sending out this morning to our various lists.  Feel free to adapt and use it for lists and groups that you belong to or think might be interested.  Over the course of the morning, we've helped send the idea from 11th place into 8th, so let's keep up the momentum!

Dear Kitchen Gardener,

As you know, First Lady Michelle Obama has been an inspiring champion for kitchen gardens and children's health by planting a bold, new garden on our country's most emblematic landscape and inviting a lucky group of 5th graders to help her.

Together, we have an opportunity to give every student in the US a chance to have access to a healthy school garden. Please join me in voting for this proposal in the "Ideas for Change in America" competition:

Voting ends Friday and only the top 10 ideas will "win" Change.org's support and campaign resources to help turn them into reality.  Currently, the school garden proposal is in 11th place and needs your vote!

Thanks for giving 5 minutes of your time today for this,

Roger Doiron
