Build your own compost bin
Compost bins, like the people who maintain them, come in all shapes and sizes. While there are some beautiful prefabricated bins out there you can buy like the one pictured above, why not put your do-it-yourself skills to the test by building your own? Here are a couple of plans you can follow for two classic bin designs.
The "oh-so-easy" mesh circle bin (click image for plan):

The more advanced 3-bin structure (click image for plan):

Alternatively, you can use the Zen approach to compost by simply leaving it in a heap. Compost happens.
