Why is my cabbage bolting?

Why is my cabbage bolting?

Bolting  is directly related to temperature. If the plants become dormant because of extended periods of cold weather, they will often go to seed, or bolt, when growth resumes. This condition can also occur if the temperature becomes too hot.  So that might explain your bolting.  In preparing for a better result next year, check with gardeners in your area about the optimal timing for planting cabbage and choose varieties that are well adapted to your climate.
